This morning we were so glad to host entrepreneur investor Steve Case and his Rise of the Rest tour, which is in Portland today to survey the startup scene. Director Patrick Roche filled him in on coworking and entrepreneurial development.
“What are the greatest needs?” asked Case.
“Better fiberoptic connectivity,” replied Roche, “and easier access to capital, for both people who want to create coworking spaces in gateway cities and small startup companies that want to grow.”
Senator Angus King, Representative Chellie Pingree, former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick and David Goldberg of venture capital firm Revolution were also on hand. They toured a mini trade show where they gave some “speed mentoring” to several Maine firms with great ideas.
We’re really proud they could experience the vibe of our coworking community first hand. It’s the vibe that makes things special!
